A Washington state high school teacher is facing criticism after explicit images were briefly shown to students during a classroom presentation, according to school officials.
The incident happened Wednesday at Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish. During a PowerPoint presentation, four images showing a woman’s bare breasts appeared on a slide and were visible to students for a short time. School principal Alicia Mitchell described the incident as an accident in a letter sent to parents.
“We want to make you aware of an incident in a classroom where inappropriate images were inadvertently shared with the students,” Mitchell wrote. “It is our understanding that these images have since been viewed by many others beyond the classroom and we want to give you an opportunity to discuss the situation with your student if you choose to do so. The content included images of nude breasts that were briefly visible during a teacher’s PowerPoint presentation.”

Mitchell said the mistake is currently under investigation and emphasized that the incident does not reflect the school’s standards for classroom materials. She did not identify the teacher involved or provide additional details.
Seattle radio host Jason Rantz said he received a copy of the presentation and claimed it included four images displayed in small preview-style boxes on one slide. According to Rantz, the layout made the images look like previews from a photo folder.
It is unclear whether the photos were of the teacher or another person, and it has not been confirmed whether the teacher has been suspended during the investigation.
A school spokesperson said the district could not provide further details while the matter is being reviewed.
“As this is a personnel matter currently under investigation, we’re unable to provide additional details or comment further,” the spokesperson said. “We take this matter seriously and are following established processes to review the situation and determine next steps.”
