TOLEDO, Ohio — Editor’s note: The following story involves sex crimes against children. Viewer discretion is advised.
A Toledo man faces federal charges after admitting to sexually abusing two children over 150 times and recording the crimes.
According to an affidavit, on Feb. 24, the Department of Homeland Security, with the support of other agencies, investigated a video in Interpol’s International Child Sexual Exploitation database. It was determined the video was first uploaded to the internet on Oct. 30, 2023.
The FBI used facial recognition technology on a minor victim to trace visually similar results to a Facebook page. Photos on the page matched what was shown in the video of the abuse.
The FBI found a Facebook page associated with 34-year-old Chaz Micheal Jacob.
After an investigation and information from a victim, Jacob consented to an interview with authorities. He described the sexual abuse of a child in graphic detail.
Jacob admitted that he had sexually abused that child at least 50 different times, dating back to when the child was 4 years old and until Thanksgiving 2024.
Jacob further admitted he sexually abused another child “at least one hundred” occasions from age 4 “until recently.”
He said that he had used cellphones to record, save and view the child sexual abuse materials he created, and that explicit files would be found on his cellphone.
Jacob told authorities that he had viewed, received, distributed and possessed child sexual abuse materials since becoming an adult. Jacob received files and shared files with users on multiple social media applications as recently as a few months ago.
Jacob was arrested and booked into the Lucas County jail. He is charged with the receipt and distribution of child pornography and sexual exploitation of minors.
