Howard Stern is facing a legal battle off the air, this time in a New York courtroom. A former assistant has filed a lawsuit against the radio host, his wife Beth Ostrosky Stern, and two production companies, claiming she was subjected to a hostile work environment while living and working at the couple’s Southampton mansion, according to reports.
Leslie Kuhn, hired in 2022 as an office manager for the Howard Stern Show and later promoted to live-in executive assistant, says her responsibilities grew to include managing household operations and assisting with Beth Stern’s cat-rescue activities. Kuhn alleges she was abruptly fired in February for “alleged misconduct,” despite previously being told she would receive a raise in 2026.
Kuhn, who moved into the Sterns’ home in May 2024, claims her termination was tied to chaotic business operations, pressures from on-site animal rescue activities, a toxic work environment, and “questionable” accounting practices. The lawsuit also challenges multiple nondisclosure and confidentiality agreements she signed, which she calls one-sided and fraudulent, arguing they prevent her from speaking out while allowing Stern and associates to discuss her freely. She is asking the court to determine whether those agreements are legally valid.
Neither Howard nor Beth Stern has publicly commented on the lawsuit. Beth Stern has spoken previously about her dedication to animal rescue, stating that she fostered 900 cats over five years.
