Saudi Prince Reveals Obama Gave Iranian Regime $150 Billion – And Iran Did Not Build a Single Street
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke publicly this week about Iran and the impact of the nuclear deal made during the Obama administration. He said Iran received approximately $150 billion in sanctions relief while Barack Obama was in office, but according to the Crown Prince, that money was not used to improve the lives of Iranian citizens.
Bin Salman argued that the funds were not invested in infrastructure, housing, or industrial development inside Iran. Instead, he said the Iranian government directed the money toward expanding its military capabilities and supporting militant groups throughout the Middle East. He stated that Iran used the resources to develop missiles and drones and to strengthen proxy forces such as Hamas, Ansar Allah, and Hezbollah.
According to the Saudi leader, Iran has also provided shelter to members of Al Qaeda. He specifically mentioned that senior figures within the terrorist organization are currently inside Iran, including one of Osama bin Laden’s sons, who was raised there and has reportedly been positioned as a potential future leader of the group.
Bin Salman described the Iranian government as an ideological regime that focuses more on exporting its beliefs and supporting militant groups than on meeting the needs of its own population. He said Saudi Arabia views these actions as a major threat to regional stability and to the safety of allied nations.
The Crown Prince added that Saudi Arabia is actively working with international partners to address these threats and limit the influence of organizations backed by Iran. He emphasized that cooperation among countries in the Middle East, Europe, and other parts of the world is necessary to counter what he called destructive ideologies spreading through the region.
His remarks are among the most direct public criticisms of Iran by a current Arab head of government. The comments come at a time when tensions remain high in the region, with Iran accused of supporting proxy groups and launching attacks against targets in neighboring countries, including Saudi Arabia.
