Israel strikes 400 targets tied to Iranian regime, drops 650 munitions in 2 days

Israel’s military said Wednesday night that the Israeli Air Force carried out an extensive series of strikes against targets connected to Iran’s regime over the previous two days. According to the military, roughly 650 munitions were used against about 400 locations, including several sites in central Tehran.

The Israel Defense Forces said the attacks significantly weakened Iranian military capabilities. Around 15 weapons production facilities were hit, among them a major complex associated with Iran’s Defense Ministry. That site reportedly contained a development and manufacturing facility tied to missile systems designed to target aircraft.

Israeli forces also struck several elements of Iran’s missile and air defense network. These included air defense systems, launch sites, and locations used to produce and store ballistic missiles. On Wednesday, Israeli aircraft targeted a base belonging to the ground forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Military officials said they recently detected that Iranian leadership had begun shifting command centers into mobile units, with commanders operating from those platforms. At least one of those mobile command units was targeted in the strikes.

Another attack hit a ballistic missile storage site connected to a missile unit near the city of Tabriz. The Israeli military said the strike was part of a broader effort to further weaken the regime’s military infrastructure. According to the IDF, the latest operations are aimed at intensifying damage to the core systems and foundations of what it described as the Iranian regime.

The campaign is part of “Operation Roaring Lion,” which began on February 28. Since the start of the operation, hundreds of Israeli Air Force combat aircraft have flown missions inside Iranian airspace targeting military infrastructure tied to the government in Tehran.

Israeli tanker aircraft have played a key role in supporting those missions, carrying out about 2,000 aerial refueling operations to keep combat aircraft in the air during the long-range strikes.

US Central Command Commander Adm. Brad Cooper said Thursday that the month-long campaign has produced clear results against Iran’s military forces.

“We don’t see their navy sailing. We don’t see their aircraft flying, and their air and missile defense systems have largely been destroyed,” Cooper said, describing what he called significant progress in the ongoing strikes against Iranian military assets.
