Tucker Carlson has gained a potential 2028 presidential supporter from within the MAGA movement that President Trump says he defines, according to Axios. Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is publicly encouraging the former Fox News host to consider a White House run. Her comments come days after President Trump told ABC News that Carlson had “lost his way” and was not truly MAGA. Carlson—who has previously dismissed talk of a presidential bid and is widely expected to support Vice President JD Vance in 2028—told Status founder Oliver Darcy that he is “annoyed” with Trump but said he will “always love him.”

Greene has taken a harder line. While defending Carlson over his strong opposition to a possible war with Iran—which Carlson described as “absolutely disgusting and evil”—she wrote on X that “I SUPPORT TUCKER.” She also argued that Trump “doesn’t even know what MAGA is anymore and turned it into MIGA,” adding, “Trump is not America First, he’s donor first.” Greene further claimed that “Tucker would beat Trump” if Trump attempted what she described as an unconstitutional third term.

Much of the disagreement appears tied to policy differences over Israel and Iran. Carlson and Greene, along with media figures such as Steve Bannon and Megyn Kelly, have criticized Trump’s stance on the issue. Some pro-Israel voices within the MAGA movement have responded by accusing them of antisemitism. Despite the dispute, polling indicates that the Republican base remains strongly aligned with Trump and his vision of the MAGA movement.
