A shocking video shows a history teacher urinating in his classroom at Granite Oaks Middle School in Rocklin, California, just moments before students entered.
The cellphone footage, reportedly captured by a student, shows the teacher—identified by students as eighth-grade history teacher Dan Champ—unbuttoning his pants and relieving himself into a container just out of view. In the video, Champ is heard saying, “Gosh, that’s good… love it, love it,” before carrying the container across the room and pouring out its contents. The school bell rings shortly after, with students entering the classroom as whispers and giggles are heard.

School officials were alerted to the incident on February 25 after a parent shared the video. Rumors had circulated that Champ would urinate into a container between classes, according to a student who previously had him in class. “It personally makes me feel disgusted knowing that I was in the room prior to him doing that near the spot that I used to sit,” the student said.
Champ has been placed on leave while the school and the Rocklin Unified School District investigate. A letter sent to families stated:
“This afternoon, after school dismissal, a parent and a staff member informed the School Administration of a video showing an employee engaging in conduct inconsistent with our professional standards. While the unverified video does not involve any students or other staff, the employee has been placed on leave while Granite Oaks Middle School and RUSD investigate the incident. Although we are unable to share specific details, this matter is being taken seriously and will be addressed in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and legal requirements.”
