GREENVILLE, S.C. — A Greenville County pastor and his wife have been accused of decades-long abuse involving their adopted children, according to investigators.
Authorities began looking into 73-year-old Myron Chorbajian and 71-year-old Kathleen Chorbajian in April 2025 after one of their children reported what officials described as extensive mistreatment dating back to the 1980s. The allegations were first reported by WHNS and WKRC.
According to arrest warrants, Myron Chorbajian is accused of sexually abusing multiple adopted daughters and subjecting several children to severe neglect and physical punishment. Investigators allege he forced some children to find and eat discarded food and imposed other degrading punishments. Authorities also say he killed family pets in front of the children as a form of intimidation.
Investigators stated that Kathleen Chorbajian was aware of the abuse but did not report it.
The couple was arrested while visiting the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and later extradited to Greenville County, where they live.
Myron Chorbajian faces multiple felony charges, including criminal sexual conduct with a minor, incest, child endangerment, and assault. Kathleen Chorbajian has been charged with child endangerment and accessory after the fact.
Both were initially denied bond. In February 2026, a judge granted bond to Kathleen Chorbajian after determining she was not a flight risk, though the court said more time was needed to assess whether she posed any danger to the community.
