DETROIT – The Detroit Police Department is warning residents about scam text messages that may appear to come from official sources.
On Wednesday (Feb. 11), DPD shared examples of phishing texts on X. Officials say that if you receive a message resembling the examples, you should not respond, click on any links, or share personal information.

Instead, the department advises deleting the message immediately and reporting it as spam to help prevent fraud or identity theft.
