Trump Turns the Tables on Reporter Asking About Amazon’s Decision to Pay Millions For Melania Documentary (VIDEO)
President Trump and First Lady Melania attended the premiere of Melania at the Trump Kennedy Center on Thursday evening. The documentary chronicles the 20 days leading up to President Trump’s second inauguration.
As they walked the red carpet, President Trump engaged with reporters, sparking a lively exchange.
A New York Times reporter asked President Trump about Amazon’s $40 million bid for the documentary. “Amazon paid $75 million to make and market this film. It is an exorbitant fee…” the reporter said.
President Trump responded, “And who are you?”
“New York Times,” the reporter replied.
“Ugh! The New York Times… Fake News New York Times,” Trump shot back.
Another reporter questioned President Trump about the acquisition. “What do you say to those who are critical of the fact that Amazon gave $40 million to acquire the rights of this movie?” they asked.
President Trump turned the question around, saying, “Well, I think they’d have to go and ask President Obama, who got paid a lot of money and hasn’t done anything! Melania really produced! She’s done a great thing.”
