Florida doctor accused of stealing nearly K worth of merchandise at Target

A Florida doctor was arrested after allegedly attempting to steal nearly $3,000 in merchandise from a Target store — all while driving a luxury car reported as stolen.

Lindsey Jae Minshew, 40, allegedly took $2,716.61 worth of items from a Target in Jacksonville on January 16, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Minshew, a practicing physician who completed her residency at the Mayo Clinic in 2017, has been licensed in Florida since 2012 and also holds a secondary license in Pennsylvania. Both licenses are valid until January 2027.

Police said Minshew arrived in the store’s parking lot 30 minutes before the theft in a black 2024 Porsche 911, valued at over $130,000 — which they say was also stolen. Details about the items she allegedly took have not been released.

When she was booked on January 23, Minshew appeared with full makeup, bold pink lipstick, and buzzed blonde hair. She was charged with grand theft for stealing between $750 and $4,999. Authorities have not confirmed whether she will face additional charges related to the car.

It remains unclear if these alleged incidents could affect her medical license.

In a similar case nearby, a Georgia elementary school assistant principal, Courtney Janell Shaw, 47, allegedly used a “stacking” scheme at Walmart self-checkout kiosks to steal 98 items valued at roughly $1,000. Shaw reportedly scanned only the bottom item in a stack while placing multiple items in her bag, evading the store’s camera surveillance between November and December.
