Minneapolis, MN — Pro-Trump independent journalist Nick Sortor says he was robbed of a $1,000 camera by an apparent Somali woman while filming in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood on Sunday.
Video from the incident shows a masked woman snatching the camera from Sortor while he was inside his vehicle. He immediately exited the car and chased the suspect to their vehicle, but they sped away with Sortor’s hand caught in the door handle, dragging him down the street.
“They just stole my camera,” Sortor said after the vehicle escaped. A bystander then approached him, shouting and berating him. Several others surrounding Sortor and his colleague, Cam Higby, reportedly recorded the scene on their phones while yelling at them.

This incident follows an attack on Sortor last week while covering a leftist mob outside an ICE facility in Minneapolis. During that incident, Sortor said rioters surrounded his vehicle, vandalized it with spray paint, and threw frozen water bottles at him, threatening his life. He said he was forced to drive through the crowd to protect himself and his colleague. Police later detained Sortor and Higby after rioters reported that the journalists were armed.
