Jealous girlfriend allegedly threw 25-pound weight at romantic rival’s head in wild attack at Texas gym
A 24-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly throwing a 25-pound weight plate at another woman during a confrontation at a Houston-area gym, authorities said.
According to the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Office, Aralyn Martinez is accused of recognizing the victim as someone involved with her partner while at a 24 Hour Fitness in Spring last week. Police say Martinez became angry and hurled a weighted plate toward the woman’s head in an apparent attempt to cause injury.

Charging documents state that Martinez verbally threatened the victim, Cindy Aguilar, moments before the Jan. 7 incident. Officers responded to the gym, and Martinez was taken into custody the following day.
She was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A judge reviewing the case noted that alcohol may have played a role in the incident, according to court records cited by Law & Crime.

Martinez’s bond was set at $1,000, which she posted the day after her arrest. As part of her release conditions, she is prohibited from consuming alcohol in any form, including products such as certain medications or mouthwash. The court also barred her from using marijuana, possessing weapons, or contacting the victim.
Additionally, Martinez is required to remain at least 200 feet away from the 24 Hour Fitness location where the incident occurred.
