Climate Change Warrior Kamala Harris Buys New Mansion Near The Ocean in Malibu

Kamala Harris has reportedly purchased a new luxury home in Malibu for more than $8 million, a move that critics say sharply undercuts the dire warnings Democrats regularly issue about climate change.
Harris, one of the most vocal figures in the Democratic Party on climate policy, has long described climate change as an existential threat. Yet, according to reporting from the New York Post, she and her husband, Doug Emhoff, recently bought an $8.15 million, 4,000-square-foot mansion just steps from the Pacific Ocean.
The property is located in Point Dume, one of Malibu’s most exclusive neighborhoods. The four-bedroom, six-bathroom home sits on a promontory overlooking Little Dume, a private beach accessible only to residents with a special key. The area is well known for its celebrity residents and its appeal to Hollywood and Silicon Valley elites.
Locals have reportedly spotted Emhoff walking through the neighborhood in recent weeks. Despite recent wildfires that have damaged large portions of Malibu—including the Woolsey Fire and the Palisades Fire—Point Dume remains relatively untouched and continues to command top-dollar prices thanks to its privacy, large lots, and prime coastal location.
One has to wonder how Kamala Harris and Barack Obama sleep at night, given that climate change could destroy their multimillion-dollar coastal estates. pic.twitter.com/3TgyFSZcSQ

Harris’s purchase has renewed criticism of what many see as a familiar pattern among Democratic elites. The same politicians who warn everyday Americans about rising sea levels and coastal danger often choose to invest millions in beachfront or near-beach properties.
Former President Barack Obama provides another frequently cited example. His homes in Martha’s Vineyard and Hawaii—both coastal locations—have long raised similar questions about how seriously Democratic leaders believe their own climate rhetoric.
To critics, the contradiction is glaring. While average Americans are urged to change their lifestyles, pay higher energy costs, and accept sweeping regulations in the name of climate change, wealthy political figures continue to live comfortably in some of the most exclusive—and supposedly vulnerable—coastal areas in the country.
To them, it’s just the latest example of what they see as a double standard: one set of rules for the political elite, and another for everyone else.
