The Iranian women are risking their lives standing up to the radical Islamist regime. Their courage is unfathomable.

Women in Iran face severe punishment—and even death—for defying the Islamic Republic’s strict dress codes. For many, simply showing their hair is treated as a crime.
A woman in Tehran shared a photo of her injured back after being punished for refusing to comply with mandatory hijab laws. Her only “offense” was appearing in public without covering her hair. Despite the risks, she chose not to remain silent.
Holding a sign bearing the slogan “Woman, Life, Freedom,” she described her ordeal:
“The morality police arrested me for resisting their van. My ‘crime’ was unveiling. After months of court hearings, I was sentenced to 74 lashes. A cleric stood by to ensure the punishment was carried out. I will not give up my fight against this brutal regime, but we are exhausted from living like prisoners in our own homeland.”
Her injuries are a stark reminder of the repression faced by women under Iran’s current system of rule. Yet her decision to speak out reflects a broader movement of resistance, led largely by women, demanding basic rights and dignity.
This is not law enforcement—it is brutality. Critics argue that such punishments amount to state-sanctioned terror, raising urgent questions about how the world responds to regimes that use violence to control their own people.
This trend among Iranian women is now unstoppable

This is the brutal reality of life for women under the Islamic Republic in Iran. A woman in Tehran sent me this photo of her scarred back, flogged for the “crime” of showing her hair. Yet, she refuses to be silenced.
