‘Jeopardy!’ host Ken Jennings says 2028 candidate who vows to prosecute Trump ‘regime’ ‘has my vote’

“Jeopardy!” host Ken Jennings drew attention online for criticizing President Donald Trump and his administration, saying he’d back a 2028 candidate who pledges to prosecute members of the current regime.

Jennings posted on the social platform Bluesky on Wednesday, a day when national headlines were dominated by a controversial shooting in Minneapolis involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. In his message, he wrote: “The ‘prosecute the regime at every level’ candidate has my vote in 2028.”

Earlier this week, Jennings also appeared to jab at U.S. foreign policy, commenting on the situation in Venezuela with a sarcastic comparison to failed New Year’s resolutions.

Requests for comment from Jennings, his representatives, and Jeopardy! producer Sony Pictures Television had not been immediately answered.

Jennings took over as co‑host of “Jeopardy!” in 2021 and became the solo host in 2023. Over the years, he has sparked debate with outspoken political posts online. In the past, he drew criticism for mocking the young son of then‑President Trump and later apologized for insensitive remarks. He has also publicly supported politicians such as Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren in earlier election cycles, and apologized in 2020 for earlier posts he said were poorly worded and hurtful.

Jennings’ recent comments come amid national outrage over the shooting of a Minneapolis woman by an ICE officer during a federal immigration enforcement operation. The incident has triggered protests and sharply divided reactions: federal officials, including the Department of Homeland Security, defended the agent’s actions as self‑defense, while Minneapolis leaders and local residents have strongly disputed that account and called for accountability.
