Hollywood actor and former professional boxer Mickey Rourke is facing eviction from his Los Angeles home, according to court records, over nearly $60,000 in unpaid rent.

Rourke, 73, was served with a three-day notice to pay rent or vacate by Dec. 18 after missing payments on his Beverly Grove rental, where the monthly rent had risen to $7,000. At the time the notice was issued, he allegedly owed $59,100. Details about his current financial situation are unclear.

Court filings indicate the notice was posted on the property and mailed because “no person of suitable age or discretion” was found at the home. The three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath property, built in 1926, is described on Zillow as a “nicely upgraded Spanish bungalow.”

This back-rent issue adds another chapter to Rourke’s famously turbulent career, which has seen both dramatic highs and lows. He first gained attention in the early 1980s with roles in Heaven’s Gate, Body Heat, and Diner, later becoming one of Hollywood’s most intense leading men with films such as 9½ Weeks, Angel Heart, Barfly, and The Pope of Greenwich Village.

In the early 1990s, Rourke left acting to pursue professional boxing, a physically punishing detour that left him battered but officially undefeated. He later returned to Hollywood, culminating in his acclaimed performance as a washed-up wrestler in The Wrestler, which earned him a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination.
