Self-Styled Prophet in Ghana Says His Prayers Delayed the Dec. 25 End of the World, Postponed the Flood Until Further Notice — and Bought a Mercedes-Benz Instead
A self-styled prophet in Ghana has quietly revised his apocalyptic prophecy after his dramatic prediction of a Christmas Day flood failed to come true.
According to News18, Ebo Enoch—also known as “Ebo Noah”—had warned followers that relentless rainfall would begin on December 25 and continue for three years, destroying everything in its path. He claimed the only way to survive would be through wooden arks he said God instructed him to build, drawing comparisons to the biblical story of Noah.
When December 25 passed without rain, flooding, or any sign of an apocalypse, Ebo shifted his message. The end of the world, he now says, has not been canceled, only postponed.
Ebo told followers that God was so pleased with his prayers, fasting, and donations that humanity had been granted more time. He announced a new divine directive: expand the project by building additional arks so more people could be “saved.”
In a public statement, Ebo said he received a vision showing crowds from around the world gathering to enter the ark, overwhelming its capacity. After sharing the vision with other religious leaders and praying together, he said God allowed extra time to construct more arks and a large tent to accommodate everyone.
He urged followers not to panic or rush to any location, insisting he was not selling tickets or collecting money, and encouraged people to stay home and enjoy the holidays. He ended the message by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Despite those assurances, thousands reportedly traveled to Elmina, Ghana, in anticipation of the predicted disaster. News18 reported that at least one man from Liberia was left stranded there, confused and distressed after the flood never occurred.
