HORROR: Homeless Man Fatally Stabs Elderly Woman in Barnes & Noble in South Florida
A woman was fatally stabbed Monday evening inside a Barnes & Noble bookstore in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, according to police.
Authorities say 40-year-old Antonio Moore attacked 65-year-old Rita Loncharich inside the store before fleeing the scene. Loncharich was taken to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Moore was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with first-degree premeditated murder. Police said the victim’s husband reported that Moore is a homeless man from Alabama who had been in Florida for several weeks.
According to CBS Austin, Loncharich managed to call her husband moments after the attack to tell him she had been stabbed.
Investigators say the motive for the stabbing remains unknown, and the case is still under investigation.
