Infamous OJ Simpson houseguest surfaces outside Rob Reiner murder scene
In a startling intersection of Hollywood’s most notorious true-crime eras, Kato Kaelin was seen outside the Brentwood estate where legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were tragically killed last week.
Kaelin, who became a household name as the shaggy-haired houseguest during the 1995 O.J. Simpson trial, was spotted at the Reiners’ gate on Monday — near the same tree-lined streets that once served as the backdrop for the “trial of the century.” “I know the situation and it’s just horrific,” Kaelin told The Post. “It’s Brentwood, there’s a guest house involved… As soon as I heard the news — ‘Brentwood’ and ‘crime’ — I perked up. It’s devastating that Rob and Michele Reiner were killed.”

“This again feels like a media circus, like it was in Rockingham 30 years ago,” he continued. “It’s a terrible, terrible situation when parents are harmed by someone they raised from birth. There’s not much to say except God bless the Reiners.”
The director of classics such as When Harry Met Sally and The Princess Bride was found dead alongside his wife on December 14. Authorities say the couple was stabbed to death, and their son, Nick Reiner, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances.

Kaelin’s presence has drawn additional attention to the Brentwood property. For many, his face is a chilling reminder of the 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, which occurred just miles from the Reiner residence.
Now, the normally quiet streets of Brentwood are once again filled with news vans, yellow tape, and a flood of media attention — a stark reminder that in this corner of Los Angeles, the spotlight never truly fades.
