A Kenosha man previously connected to Kyle Rittenhouse has been arrested on new criminal charges stemming from an alleged armed robbery in Illinois, according to law enforcement officials in both Wisconsin and Illinois.

Dominick Black, 24, is facing multiple charges across two states. Authorities say he is charged in Wisconsin with fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement and reckless endangerment. In Illinois, he is wanted on an armed robbery charge issued by McHenry County.

Black is currently being held at the Walworth County Jail on the Wisconsin charges and is also subject to a detainer related to the Illinois armed robbery warrant. Jail records indicate he is awaiting extradition to McHenry County.

Police say the incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on Dec. 11 in the parking lot of Harvard High School in Harvard, Illinois, a town located between Chicago and Milwaukee. According to a press release from the Harvard Police Department, officers received reports of an armed robbery involving suspects who fled north toward Wisconsin.

Investigators allege Black and two other men arranged to meet jewelry sellers they contacted through Facebook Marketplace. The sellers, a man and a woman from Janesville, Wisconsin, told police they had agreed on a price and met the suspects in the school parking lot to complete the deal. Instead, authorities say the suspects displayed a rifle, stole the jewelry, and fled the scene.

After crossing into Wisconsin, the suspects were pursued by Walworth County sheriff’s deputies. The chase ended in another jurisdiction when Racine County sheriff’s deputies deployed spike strips to disable the vehicle. Police said all three suspects were taken into custody, and the stolen jewelry and rifle were recovered from the vehicle.

Along with Black, police arrested Blair W. Stiles II, 19, and Solomon A. Bankhead, 25, both of Kenosha. All three face armed robbery charges in Illinois.

Black is previously known for his involvement in the 2020 Kenosha unrest, during which Kyle Rittenhouse fatally shot two people and wounded a third. Black had purchased the AR-15 rifle used in the shootings and later testified for Rittenhouse at trial. While Black initially faced felony charges related to providing a firearm to a minor, he ultimately pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a child, as Rittenhouse was 17 at the time.

Black has had other legal issues since then. In 2022, he was charged with fleeing law enforcement and operating an unregistered motorcycle. He pleaded guilty to the fleeing charge in 2023 and was sentenced to three years of probation in Kenosha County.

According to McHenry County court records, Black is currently scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 4, 2027, in connection with the armed robbery case.
