WATCH: Thompson Draws Fire for Calling National Guard Murder an “Unfortunate Accident”

Representative Bennie Thompson, the former chairman of the highly partisan January 6 Committee, previously led an effort critics say was designed to manufacture evidence, promote false narratives for political purposes, and target supporters of President Donald Trump.

During a House hearing on Department of Homeland Security border enforcement and Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations targeting illegal aliens on Wednesday, Thompson referred to the shooting and killing of National Guard troops in Washington, D.C. as “an unfortunate accident.” DHS Secretary Kirsti Noem immediately pushed back, stating that the incident was an act of terrorism that resulted in the murder of a U.S. service member.
