Unhinged bigot caught on video unleashing antisemitic rant at Jewish woman in NYC eatery
A disturbing antisemitic confrontation unfolded Saturday night at a Manhattan restaurant, captured on video and shared widely on social media.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at Mole Mexican Bar & Grill in the West Village. According to witnesses and the footage, a Jewish patron overheard a man spouting antisemitic remarks nearby and politely responded, triggering a violent verbal attack.
In the video, the man can be heard yelling expletives and anti-Israel slurs at the woman. At one point, he shouts, “You’re an ugly f–ing Zionist. We will rid this country of f–ing you by all f–ing means,” and menaces the victim by moving close to her before leaving with a female companion.
Max Towey, co-founder of Roca News, witnessed the confrontation and posted the video online.
“It was one-sided yelling, just him,” Towey said. “We hear ‘F–k you, Jew!’ multiple times. It was shocking and deeply troubling to see the women shaken up and crying afterward. These were calm, non-combative people. I think people like this feel emboldened, tracing all the world’s evils to Jewish people.”
Jewish community leaders note a rise in antisemitic incidents following the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, and Israel’s subsequent military response in Gaza.
A restaurant employee reached Sunday declined to comment on the incident.
