Obese death row inmate requests gluttonous buffet for last meal
A Georgia death row inmate has requested an extensive, high-calorie final meal ahead of his scheduled execution next week.
Stacey Humphreys, 52, is set to be put to death by lethal injection next Wednesday. For his last meal, he requested barbecue beef brisket, pork ribs, a bacon double cheeseburger, french fries, coleslaw, cornbread, buffalo wings, a meat-lover’s pizza, and vanilla ice cream, along with two lemon-lime sodas, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. Humphreys, who stands about 6-foot-3 and weighs 305 pounds, is considered clinically obese by the CDC’s body mass index standards.

Humphreys was sentenced to death for the 2003 murders of 33-year-old Cynthia Williams and 21-year-old Lori Brown, two real estate employees he confronted at their office. Prosecutors said he forced the women to strip and provide their bank PIN numbers before shooting them execution-style. Williams was found with a ligature mark on her neck, and Humphreys stole thousands of dollars from their accounts before being captured following a high-speed chase in Wisconsin.
After his arrest, Humphreys admitted he fled because he knew he had committed the killings, though he claimed not to remember the act itself.

Attempts by Humphreys’ legal team to delay the execution were denied by a federal judge, and the Supreme Court previously declined to hear an appeal.
Humphreys’ execution will be the first in Georgia this year and the 55th by lethal injection in the state’s history. Currently, 33 inmates—32 men and one woman—remain on Georgia’s death row.
