Brigitte Macron Under Fire For Calling Feminist Protesters ‘Dirty B*tches’ (VIDEO)
Foul-mouthed Brigitte is under fire for defending her friend accused of rape.
French President Emmanuel Macron continues to struggle politically, with support reportedly hovering around 11%. And his wife, Brigitte Macron, is once again in the spotlight for controversy.
A video that surfaced on December 9 shows the French first lady using a derogatory term against feminist protesters.
According to the Associated Press:
“The scene filmed Sunday showed France’s first lady backstage at the Folies Bergère theatre in Paris, speaking with French actor and humorist Ary Abittan, who has previously faced accusations of rape. Feminist activists had disrupted his performance the night before, shouting ‘Abittan, rapist!’ In the backstage conversation, Brigitte Macron asked Abittan how he was feeling. When he said he was scared, she made a derogatory and sexist reference to the women, saying, ‘We’ll toss them out.’”
The video has sparked criticism online, with many condemning the first lady’s choice of words.
Brigitte Macron’s office issued a statement defending her:
“As the video shows, Mrs. Macron’s only intention was to reassure an artist who had told her he was scared because his show had been disrupted the previous evening. In no way is she attacking a cause. She does, however, disapprove of the radical methods used to prevent an artist from performing on stage, as was the case on Saturday night.”
The incident adds to a growing list of controversial moments involving Brigitte Macron, fueling public debate about her role and influence in French politics.
