Authorities say the expensive Faberge egg pendant allegedly swallowed by a New Zealand man has been recovered. Police reportedly monitored the suspect’s movements closely, and the item was eventually recovered “naturally,” with no medical intervention required, according to the BBC.

A 32-year-old man in Auckland is now facing theft charges after allegedly swallowing a Faberge pendant valued at over $19,000 at Partridge Jewellers. Police say the suspect entered the store on Friday, picked up the luxury item—a Faberge x 007 Special Edition Octopussy Egg Surprise Locket—and swallowed it. Officers arrived within minutes and arrested him at the scene, though the pendant had not been recovered immediately.

The pendant is crafted from 18-karat yellow gold, features green guilloche enamel, and is set with 60 white diamonds and 15 blue sapphires. It is inspired by the 1983 James Bond film Octopussy, in which agent 007 famously swaps out a Faberge egg at an auction. Inside the locket is a miniature 18-karat gold octopus with black diamond eyes.

Authorities say the man is also accused of previously stealing an iPad from the same jewelry store in November, as well as cat litter and flea treatment worth about $65 from a private residence the following day. He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in district court on Monday.
