A Texas man was taken into custody after an hours-long standoff in his San Antonio home over the weekend.

Police arrested 52-year-old Bobby Rocha on Sunday following a tense standoff that began the previous afternoon. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by KSAT, the situation started when Rocha’s roommate accidentally let Rocha’s dog and cat out of the house. The roommate, who said he had known Rocha since childhood, left to search for the pets but returned without them.

The affidavit states that Rocha became enraged, pointed a gun at his roommate, and threatened to “chop him into pieces and feed him to the cat.” Fearing for his safety, the roommate gathered his belongings, left the house, and called 911.

When officers arrived, they attempted to contact Rocha, but he refused to come out and told police he was “willing to die inside the house,” according to the report.

KENS reports that the standoff lasted roughly seven hours before Rocha finally exited the home with his hands raised and surrendered peacefully.

Rocha has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as well as obstruction or retaliation. He is currently being held at the Bexar County Jail on a $40,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for February 26, 2026.
