Anti-ICE Rioters Trap Agents in NYC Parking Garage (VIDEOS)
A tense confrontation in Lower Manhattan on Saturday was captured on video as activists blocked an NYC garage, preventing ICE agents from driving out for scheduled enforcement operations.
The incident occurred amid President Donald Trump’s intensified efforts to increase deportations of individuals in the country illegally, and it underscored the continued resistance from activist groups in New York City, which has long maintained sanctuary policies that limit cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

Video taken at the scene shows protesters standing shoulder-to-shoulder at the garage entrance on Centre Street near Howard Street, pushing barricades and facing off against police officers equipped with riot gear. Demonstrators chanted “ICE out of New York!” as dozens of ICE personnel remained inside their vehicles, unable to depart for what witnesses said was a planned operation in the Canal Street area.
Organizers urged additional supporters to join the protest at Canal and Lafayette, where participants surrounded ICE vans, shouted at agents, and stalled the enforcement effort. NYPD units responded near Canal and Broadway, working to disperse the crowd in heated exchanges that included the use of smoke and physical pushing.

Police arrested several protesters as more arrived throughout the afternoon. Some demonstrators also dragged trash into the street to block access, a tactic that drew criticism online from observers who noted the contradiction with the group’s stated environmental concerns.
