A strange confrontation unfolded Saturday during the college football matchup between South Carolina and Texas A&M when a state trooper had an unexpected run-in with players. According to USA Today, the incident occurred after South Carolina wide receiver Nyck Harbor caught a long touchdown pass late in the first half. Harbor, appearing to favor a leg, ran into the players’ tunnel with a few teammates in tow.

As they returned to the field, a Texas state trooper stepped between Harbor and another player, bumping into them, the Associated Press reported. The trooper then turned, pointed at Harbor, and shouted something.

Video of the incident quickly went viral, leading to the trooper being sent home early. “We are aware of the incident in the NE tunnel involving a DPS trooper,” Texas A&M Police Department tweeted, referencing the state’s Department of Public Safety. “He has been relieved of his game day assignment.” The DPS added that its Office of Inspector General would investigate the matter.

At the time of the touchdown, South Carolina led 27-3, but Texas A&M ultimately rallied to win 31-30.
