Casharra Brown allegedly throwing hot coffee on a McDonald's manager in Michigan (Buena Vista Township Police Department).

A McDonald’s manager in Michigan was burned after a customer threw a cup of hot coffee at her during an argument over a messed-up breakfast order, police said.

Detective Russ Pahssen of the Buena Vista Township Police Department told WNEM that the confrontation “probably could’ve been settled a little bit different,” adding that the incident was caught on cellphone video that quickly went viral.

In the video, the suspect—identified as Casharra Brown—can allegedly be heard yelling profanities before hurling the coffee. The Buena Vista Police Department shared footage of the altercation on Facebook, asking the public for help in identifying the suspect. Dozens of tips poured in, leading to an arrest warrant for Brown last week.

As of Tuesday evening, Brown remained at large. “We will be requesting that she gets jail time out of this,” Detective Pahssen said.

According to police, the confrontation began when the customer came into the restaurant to request a refund for her app order, which reportedly lacked a name in the system. The manager said the woman had ordered breakfast sandwiches and coffee, then tried to return the sandwiches.

“She wasn’t happy about the order, and that’s when the argument escalated,” Pahssen said. “Next thing you know, coffee was being thrown.”

The manager suffered minor burns, and Brown now faces a misdemeanor assault and battery charge. Detective Pahssen, a 22-year law enforcement veteran, said he’s never handled a case quite like this.

“Once it goes through the court system, we’ll see what happens,” he said. “But we’ll be asking that she serve some jail time for what she did.”
