Teen Stabbed to Death Outside Chaotic Suffolk County, Long Island, NY House Party; Homeowner Charged for Allowing Underage Drinking
A Long Island community is reeling after a 15-year-old boy was fatally stabbed outside a crowded house party in West Babylon on Monday night.
Police say Liam Delemo, 15, was attending a gathering at a home on Carlton Road with an estimated 90 to 100 other teens when the event spiraled into chaos. Around 10:30 p.m., a violent altercation broke out outside the residence, and Delemo was stabbed amid the mayhem.
He was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead—just weeks shy of his 16th birthday.
Neighbors described scenes of panic as dozens of teens fled the property, some breaking sections of the fence in their attempt to escape the violence.
No arrests have yet been made in connection with the stabbing. However, police took the homeowner, 70-year-old Bonnie Miranda, into custody Tuesday evening. Miranda, a Century 21 real estate broker, is accused of allowing underage drinking at the residence where the deadly brawl occurred.
Authorities allege Miranda permitted her grandson to host the party. She faces charges under Suffolk County’s Social Host Law, which makes it illegal for any adult over 18 to knowingly allow minors to consume alcohol on their property. The law also requires adults to take reasonable action—such as stopping the drinking or asking minors to leave—once they are aware underage drinking is taking place.

While investigators have not confirmed whether alcohol contributed to the deadly fight, Miranda was charged with violating the social host law and with endangering the welfare of a child, identified as the victim, Liam Delemo.
Delemo’s father, Michael Delemo, is pleading for witnesses to come forward and help authorities identify his son’s killer.
“If I tell on somebody, I’m a rat—that goes out the window. My son’s dead,” he told ABC News, urging anyone with information to speak up.
In a heartbreaking reflection, he recalled his final conversation with his son, an 11th grader at West Babylon High School:
“I always tell him, ‘Be careful,’ and he said, ‘I will.’ Of course, I told him I loved him.”
Neighbors watched in shock as the party went haywire, with scores of teens pouring into the yard and breaking part of the fence while trying to escape the bloody scene (pictured: scene)
Liam’s mother, Hope Wilsun-Delemo, shared a photo of her son on Facebook Monday, writing, “I will love you forever my baby,” followed by a broken-heart emoji.
West Babylon High School Principal Stephen O’Leary released a statement expressing condolences to the Delemo family and announcing that grief counselors would be available for students.
“Our hearts are very heavy as we mourn the loss of Liam Delemo,” O’Leary wrote. “On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, I extend my deepest sympathies to the Delemo family and all of Liam’s friends.”
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS or the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
