Yoshinobu Yamamoto once again dominated the Toronto Blue Jays, leading the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers to a 3–1 victory on Friday night and forcing a decisive Game 7 in Toronto.
Yamamoto, who threw a four-hit complete game in Game 2, wasn’t quite as sharp this time but still delivered six strong innings. He allowed just one run — an RBI single by George Springer in the third inning — before handing things over to the bullpen. Springer returned to the lineup after missing two games with a right-side injury.
Los Angeles did its damage in the third inning, when Mookie Betts snapped out of a slump with a clutch two-run single to cap a three-run rally.
Rookie relievers Justin Wrobleski and Roki Sasaki combined for two scoreless innings before starter Tyler Glasnow came out of the bullpen to record the final three outs in dramatic fashion.

With runners on second and third in the ninth, Glasnow needed only three pitches to seal the win. He got Ernie Clement to pop up for the first out, then watched Andrés Giménez line a ball into shallow left-center that Kiké Hernández caught on the run before firing to second base. Miguel Rojas made a sharp one-hop grab to double off Addison Barger and end the game with a stunning defensive play.
“This was one of the most sudden endings to a World Series game I can ever recall,” said MLB Network analyst Jon Morosi, according to CP24.
The Blue Jays will turn to veteran ace Max Scherzer for Saturday night’s winner-take-all Game 7. Scherzer also started the last World Series Game 7 back in 2019, earning a no-decision when Washington defeated Houston for the championship.
