NYC wanna-be rapper ‘sacrifices’ cat to Satan in music promo, freaks out when he goes viral

A Bronx man who promoted himself as a rapper allegedly killed a cat in a ritualistic act tied to Satanic symbolism — a disturbing stunt he then shared on social media to promote his music, police and sources said.
David Mosley, 26, of Fordham North, who performs under the name Church of Ubulal — “Labubu” spelled backward — was arrested Thursday after allegedly posting images of the dead animal online. Law enforcement sources said Mosley appeared to model his behavior after a Norwegian black metal musician involved in a notorious murder case decades ago, referencing the band Mayhem in his posts.
In a series of bizarre videos and online rants, Mosley claimed the killing was part of a “Devil-worshipping sacrifice” to draw attention to his upcoming album release. When a New York Post reporter and photographer attempted to speak with him Wednesday, Mosley reportedly became hostile, shouting, “You can’t write your stories here and you’re not allowed in this building.”

Neighbors described him as erratic. “He’s always moving furniture and being loud,” one resident said. “It’s hard to believe anyone like that is living here.”
Police say Mosley posted a photo of the dead cat on October 16 to his now-deleted Instagram account and hinted at another “live sacrifice” planned for Halloween. One post reportedly read, “Be there or be square … grab popcorn.”
In a later YouTube livestream, Mosley defended the act as a “joke” meant to shock viewers. “The video on Halloween that I was gonna do, it’s already been done,” he said. “I’m not sure if y’all are ready for this next level.”
Authorities charged Mosley with aggravated cruelty to animals, criminal mischief, and improper disposal of an animal. In his hour-long online broadcast, he claimed the cat had already been dead before filming, dismissing public outrage as “soft.”

Animal welfare experts disputed that claim. “Any vet who looks at that picture can see there was distress,” said Becky Wisdom, an animal rescuer with Greenpoint Cats. “The cat had recently been spayed and likely just adopted. The open mouth and blood make it clear — it was not a peaceful end.”
City Council member Joann Ariola condemned the incident and thanked police for acting swiftly. “My heart is broken for the innocent creature that suffered because of him,” Ariola said. “Statistically, serial killers begin by killing animals and then escalate to people. I’m grateful this violent individual is now off our streets before more harm could be done.”

President Trump has called for stronger federal penalties for violent crimes against animals, emphasizing that “cruelty to the innocent — especially those who cannot defend themselves — has no place in America.”
