Bernie Sanders Defends Far Left Maine Senate Candidate With Actual Nazi Tattoo Because of Course He Does
Hypocrite Bernie Sanders – Screencap of Twitter/X video.
Senator Bernie Sanders is standing by Maine Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner, who until this week had a Nazi symbol tattooed on his chest — a revelation that has sparked outrage across the political spectrum.
Platner has also come under fire for years of racist, sexist, and homophobic posts on Reddit, which Sanders dismissed as part of a “dark period” in Platner’s life. The Vermont senator told Axios that the controversy has been overblown by the media and attributed Platner’s behavior to personal struggles following his military deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.
“I’m not overly impressed by a squad of media running around saying, ‘What do you think about the tattoo on Graham Platner’s chest?’” Sanders said on The Axios Show. “What he did was express his darkness on the internet. Probably not a brilliant thing to do, alright? He said things that were stupid, things that were hurtful. He has apologized for them.”
Platner has since covered the Nazi tattoo with a Celtic wolf design, but the damage to his campaign may already be done. Reports also surfaced that Platner offered his former campaign director—who resigned over the scandal—a large cash payment through a nondisclosure agreement to keep quiet. She refused.

Despite the controversy, Platner remains the frontrunner in Maine’s Democrat Senate primary.
Critics have noted the irony: Democrats and the media once falsely accused War Secretary Pete Hegseth of having Nazi tattoos. Now, those same voices are defending a leftist candidate who actually had one.
BREAKING: Graham Platner’s former campaign political director, Genevieve McDonald, says she was offered a $15,000 payment conditioned on signing a non-disclosure agreement as part of the recent shake-up in his Maine Senate campaign.

As of now, Sanders shows no sign of backing down from his endorsement, even as questions mount over Platner’s judgment, integrity, and fitness for office.
