Kim Kardashian says her ex-husband, Kanye West, played a major role in a recent health scare revealed in the Season 7 premiere of The Kardashians, which aired Thursday on Hulu. According to TMZ, an MRI showed that Kardashian had developed a brain aneurysm — something she believes was brought on by the intense stress of her highly publicized divorce from West, now known as Ye.

Doctors told Kardashian that stress can be a contributing factor in aneurysm formation. The Mayo Clinic notes that most brain aneurysms aren’t immediately life-threatening, especially if they’re small, but can become dangerous if they rupture. Kardashian also connected her recurring psoriasis flare-ups to the emotional strain of her split from Ye.

Ye continues to be part of Kardashian’s life as the two co-parent their four children — North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. In the episode, Kardashian described the pressure of shielding her kids from their father’s erratic behavior while managing her own emotional health. She admitted she once thought she had Stockholm syndrome — a condition where victims develop empathy or affection for their abuser.

Kardashian and West were married from 2014 to 2022. Throughout their relationship, Kardashian stood by Ye during several public controversies and mental health battles. Ultimately, she said she chose to end the marriage after realizing West refused to get the help he needed.
