Unbelievable: Antony Blinken Gives Biden Credit for Gaza Deal, and It Gets Worse From There

When I wrote on Saturday that the foreign policy establishment was in complete disarray, I didn’t expect them to prove it so quickly—or so brazenly. Yet here we are, with former Secretary of State Antony Blinken now trying to give Joseph Robinette Biden credit for the recently negotiated Gaza peace deal.

No, that’s not a joke. And believe it or not, it gets worse.

As RedState reported, the new peace agreement will see the release of the remaining hostages, with Israel maintaining a presence inside Gaza rather than being forced to vacate. The plan establishes a secure buffer zone inside the territory to ensure the disarmament of Hamas—a major strategic win for both Israel and the Trump administration.

This was clearly a victory for President Trump’s leadership and his team’s willingness to defy the so-called “experts” who dominate Washington’s foreign policy circles. Rather than follow the same failed formulas, the administration charted its own course—and it worked. Yet, according to Blinken, the Trump team was supposedly just following Biden’s old “plan.”

That comparison is absurd. The ceasefire deal crafted under Biden and Blinken was doomed from the start—it left hostages in Hamas’ hands, offered no real path to disarm the terrorist group, and essentially demanded that Israel stand down. It was the same recycled, weak-kneed diplomacy that marked the Obama-Biden years, offering lectures instead of results.

During Biden’s tenure, no meaningful pressure was ever applied to Arab nations to turn against Hamas, nor to Iran, which was funding the terror network and backing Hezbollah in the north. The region was left burning—handed over to President Trump in far worse condition than Biden and his team had inherited it.

For Blinken to now claim that Biden “laid the groundwork” for this peace deal is nothing short of laughable. But his shamelessness didn’t stop there. In the same statement, Blinken doubled down on calls for a Palestinian state—proof that the foreign policy establishment still hasn’t learned a thing.

For decades, these so-called experts have insisted that lasting peace in the Middle East required the creation of a Palestinian state, arguing that nothing else could succeed without it. President Trump’s leadership completely shattered that myth. Through the Abraham Accords and a new, reality-based approach to the region, he secured peace and progress without caving to the old failed narratives.

And yet, even after being proven wrong time and again, Blinken and his allies continue to lecture and posture, trying to take credit for the very success they said was impossible.

Americans should be grateful that the days of letting these over-credentialed bureaucrats steer U.S. foreign policy are over. The arsonists don’t get to claim credit for putting out the fire they started. The foreign policy establishment remains a joke—and it should be treated exactly that way.
