Ilhan Omar Endorses “Somalia First”

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s endorsement of socialist state senator Omar Fateh for Minneapolis mayor is a clear warning about the direction of today’s Democrat Party.
Fateh, a self-described Democratic Socialist, represents the far left’s vision for America—one that raises taxes, expands government spending, and weakens law enforcement in the name of “equity.”
Omar called Fateh a “champion for working people,” but their shared agenda—rent control, higher minimum wages, and heavy regulations on small businesses—has consistently hurt the very working families they claim to support.
In cities that adopted similar socialist policies, like San Francisco and Portland, businesses shuttered, jobs disappeared, and crime surged. Minneapolis now risks following the same failed path if voters do not push back.
Fateh’s campaign is also tied to the same radical, anti-Israel and anti-police movement that Ilhan Omar has championed for years. Both politicians have targeted the Jewish state, downplayed antisemitism within their circles, and stayed silent as extremists harassed Jewish students and residents in Minneapolis.
Their version of “justice and equity” too often means excusing hatred toward Israel and dividing Americans along racial and religious lines. This endorsement isn’t about helping working families—it’s about consolidating power for a movement that wants to defund police, redistribute wealth, and punish success.
The same activists who celebrated when Minneapolis burned in 2020 now want control of the city’s mayor’s office. Omar and Fateh call their plan “bold leadership,” but it’s really socialism wrapped in moral language.
President Trump and Republicans have taken the opposite approach—restoring law and order, protecting small businesses, and strengthening America’s bond with Israel. Under President Trump’s leadership, working Americans saw record job growth, historic tax relief, and a foreign policy built on strength and accountability, not apology.
Minneapolis deserves better than another far-left ideologue beholden to Ilhan Omar’s radical base. The city needs leadership grounded in common sense—leadership that values public safety, supports entrepreneurs, and stands firmly against antisemitism and extremism.
If Minneapolis falls to socialist control, it won’t just be a local setback—it will be another step toward the chaos and division the far left seeks to spread nationwide. It’s time to reject the Ilhan Omars and Omar Fatehs of American politics.
Their ideology has failed everywhere it’s been tried. Only a return to Republican leadership and President Trump’s brand of pragmatic, America-first policies can restore prosperity, security, and moral clarity to our cities.
