Combs Seeks Trump Pardon or Placement in Low-Security New Jersey Prison

Sean “Diddy” Combs is asking to serve his prison sentence at a low-security federal facility in New Jersey, arguing that its drug treatment program would support his rehabilitation. His legal team made the request Monday, saying the program at FCI Fort Dix would help the music mogul stay clean while allowing better access to family visits.
Combs, who was sentenced Friday to more than four years in prison on prostitution-related charges, has also reached out directly to President Trump, requesting a pardon that could spare him from serving time altogether. “He’s asked me for a pardon,” President Trump confirmed to reporters, according to the New York Times, though he did not say whether he intends to grant it.
In a letter to U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, Combs’ attorney Teny Geragos urged the court to recommend placement at FCI Fort Dix, a large facility located on the McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst military base. Geragos wrote that the prison’s residential drug treatment program would provide Combs the best opportunity “to address substance abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.”
