Teacher LIES About High School Student Who Was Suspended After Being Assaulted For Wearing MAGA Hat in Honor of Charlie Kirk
A student at Laguna Beach High School in California has been suspended following an incident involving a “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hat, which he wore in tribute to conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Zach Hornstein, a student at the school, wore the hat last Thursday—one day after the reported assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University. The gesture sparked tension on campus.
Hornstein said that while wearing the hat, a female student took it from him and threw it into a trash can located in the girls’ restroom. According to Hornstein, the student also used profanities while criticizing President Donald Trump.
In response, Hornstein said he made a joke to a group of students, saying, “If you don’t like it here, Canada’s open borders, feel free to go.” He maintains that this remark was taken out of context by a teacher, who allegedly reported that Hornstein had told the students to “go back to where they came from.”
Hornstein denies making that statement, telling Fox 11 that even the student involved confirmed he never said it. “They’re saying I told a group of girls to go back to where they came from, which I never said,” Hornstein said. “When they called in the girl that was involved, she literally told them that I never said that.”
His mother, Janet Semenova, believes her son was unfairly disciplined due to his political views. “I think it’s a double standard,” she told Fox 11. “I think kids who have certain political beliefs are held to a different standard than kids who have other political beliefs.”
Laguna Beach is known as a liberal area within the largely conservative Orange County region of Southern California. The school district has not yet publicly commented on the suspension.
