Man reportedly gets OVI while driving kid’s Barbie Jeep to get a Slurpee
PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – A man was pulled over earlier this month after police spotted him driving an unconventional vehicle through heavy morning traffic — a hot pink Barbie Jeep meant for children.
According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), officers in Prince George stopped the man around 9 a.m. on Friday, September 5, after he was seen navigating a busy roadway in the toy car.
Photos of the incident quickly circulated on social media, with one bystander jokingly captioning their post, “Who’s uncle is this? Someone come get your uncle!”
RCMP explained that under Canadian law, any vehicle that requires more than human power — such as a motor or battery — must be insured and operated by a licensed driver. Although Mattel says the Barbie Jeep has a top speed of only 5 mph, officers considered the situation a safety concern.
“While it might seem trivial to stop someone in a toy car, the individual was creating a hazard by forcing other motorists to swerve around him,” police said in a statement. “Additionally, drivers are not conditioned to look for toy vehicles on major roads.”

During the traffic stop, police discovered the man’s license was already suspended. Breathalyzer tests later confirmed he was over the legal alcohol limit.
The man, identified by CBC News as Kasper Lincoln, was arrested for prohibited driving. He also told the outlet that he is facing a DUI charge.
Lincoln said he had a craving for a Slurpee and decided to borrow his roommate’s daughter’s Barbie Jeep to go get one. He claimed it was his first time using the toy vehicle.
Despite planning to challenge the charges in court, Lincoln offered a blunt takeaway from the experience: “Don’t drink and drive.”
