On Monday, President Donald Trump announced that U.S. military forces carried out a second successful strike targeting a Venezuelan drug trafficking vessel linked to narcoterrorists smuggling illegal drugs into the United States.
“In response to these threats, U.S. Military Forces, under my orders, conducted a second kinetic strike today against confirmed, violent drug trafficking cartels and narcoterrorists operating within the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility,” the President said in an official statement.
The strike resulted in the deaths of three male narcoterrorists, with no U.S. personnel harmed during the operation.
This development follows a September 2nd strike on a Venezuelan Tren de Aragua vessel attempting to transport narcotics into the U.S., which Trump publicly shared with footage. He warned those involved in drug trafficking: “Please let this serve as notice to anybody even thinking about bringing drugs into the United States of America. BEWARE!”
In the days following, the Department of Homeland Security released additional footage showing a Coast Guard vessel intercepting and disabling another drug boat heading toward U.S. waters. That same night, three drug interdictions resulted in the seizure of nearly 13,000 pounds of cocaine.
President Trump has indicated plans to escalate efforts by potentially authorizing strikes on cartel targets within Venezuelan territory. On Monday, he posted further footage of the recent strike on his social media platform, Truth Social, accompanied by a stern warning: “BE WARNED — IF YOU ARE TRANSPORTING DRUGS THAT CAN KILL AMERICANS, WE ARE HUNTING YOU!”
He emphasized the toll these cartels have taken on American communities, stating that their illicit activities have caused devastating harm and the deaths of millions of Americans over decades — a situation he vowed to end.
