Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady is set to headline a high-profile flag football event in Saudi Arabia next year, joining current and former NFL stars for a three-team tournament. The Fanatics Flag Football Classic will take place on March 21 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Brady announced Monday.
The game will feature top NFL talent, including Saquon Barkley, CeeDee Lamb, Christian McCaffrey, Maxx Crosby, and Brady’s longtime teammate Rob Gronkowski. Coaching duties will be handled by Pete Carroll (Las Vegas), Sean Payton (Denver), and Kyle Shanahan (San Francisco).
Brady is teaming up with Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, to promote the event, which will be broadcast by Fox Sports. Comedian Kevin Hart is set to host.
“It’s a multiyear commitment,” said Brady, who is also a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. “This is just the beginning. Everyone I’ve spoken to is fired up to be a part of it. I didn’t want to miss the chance to play.”
The tournament arrives as flag football prepares to make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games. While NFL players are expected to play a major role on Team USA, USA Football is also scouting talent beyond the league.
Gronkowski, who played with Brady in both New England and Tampa Bay, said Brady personally invited him to join. “I asked, ‘There’s no contact, right?'” Gronk joked. “I’ve done enough of that in my career. I’ve paid my dues.”
