Bad Bunny fans in the U.S. will need to travel internationally if they want to catch the global superstar live on his upcoming tour.

In a recent interview with i-D magazine, the Puerto Rican artist revealed that he deliberately excluded U.S. cities from his tour over concerns about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) potentially targeting concert venues.

“People from the U.S. can come here to see the show,” he said. “Latinos and Puerto Ricans from the U.S. could also travel here, or to any part of the world. But there was the issue that… ICE could be outside [my concert venue]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

Bad Bunny has previously criticized ICE and its operations, especially those ramped up during the Trump administration.

His latest tour kicked off with a two-month residency in San Juan, Puerto Rico, titled “I Don’t Want to Leave Here.” The residency features 30 international shows and wraps up on September 14.

The world tour officially begins in November in the Dominican Republic, with scheduled stops across Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania, before concluding in Brussels.

Despite Puerto Rico being a U.S. territory—where ICE does operate—Bad Bunny has encouraged American fans to attend his Puerto Rico shows. While Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens and carry U.S. passports, the island remains an unincorporated territory, and its residents cannot vote in presidential elections.
