I Believe I’m Cursed — I Need Help

Hello everyone,

I come from a Filipino household where superstitions are deeply rooted and quite common. For some time now, I’ve been facing persistent negative criticism from my Grandma, especially regarding my decision to move out at 24. Over the past few months, her negativity has taken a toll on both my mental and physical well-being.

Recently, after spending a few days away from home, I returned to find cut-up garlic at the entrance of our house and salt spread throughout my room. In our culture, salt and garlic are traditionally used to ward off evil spirits or negative energies—but they can also be employed in spells intended to target someone, which leads me to believe I may have been cursed or banished.

I want to be clear: I am not evil, However, since coming back, I’ve felt “off” — experiencing headaches, body pain, and a high body temperature. Despite my efforts to protect myself with an evil eye pendant, purifying my space using sage and incense, praying, I still feel drained and unwell.

As someone new to Wicca, I’m reaching out to this community for advice on spiritual practices or rituals that might help alleviate or remove these negative energies or spells. I have many Wicca-related books, but none offer clear guidance for situations like this, and online searches haven’t been helpful.

I do not believe in using my spirituality to harm anyone — including my Grandma. But I do need help finding a way to protect myself and restore my well-being.

Thank you for any insight or advice you can offer.

Spellbound and hopeful
