Loogie-Hawking Lawyer On Scooter Confronts National Guard In DC — Instantly Regrets It

A Maryland attorney is facing felony assault charges after allegedly spitting on two National Guard personnel near Union Station in Washington, D.C., last Friday.

According to charging documents and Amtrak Police Sergeant Robert Underwood, the suspect, identified as Scott J. Pichon, approached the guards while riding a Lime scooter and appeared to cough up mucus before spitting on them. He was arrested Tuesday under a federal warrant.

U.S. Magistrate Judge G. Michael Harvey released Pichon without bail following a court appearance, according to WUSA.

The incident comes amid heightened security and law enforcement presence in the nation’s capital following President Trump’s August 11 announcement of a federal takeover of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) to address rising crime. Since the crackdown began, authorities have made 1,178 arrests and seized 123 firearms, Attorney General Pam Bondi reported on X (formerly Twitter) Wednesday.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro had previously warned that those who assault law enforcement would face serious charges, citing an earlier arrest of a Department of Justice employee who allegedly threw a Subway sandwich at police.

A string of high-profile incidents has drawn national attention to crime in D.C., including the fatal shooting of Republican congressional intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, the killing of two Israeli Embassy staff members in May, and the 2023 assault of Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN). Additionally, Edward Coristine, a Department of Government Efficiency staffer known online as “Big Balls,” was injured while trying to stop a carjacking earlier this month.
