Homeowner Kills Two Police Impersonators
A Houston homeowner fatally shot two men late Friday night after they posed as police officers and attempted to enter his home, according to KHOU.
The incident began when the two masked individuals arrived at the residence claiming to have a warrant. However, the homeowner became suspicious, noting the lack of a police vehicle, flashing lights, or a proper police presence — observations aided by footage from the home’s Ring doorbell camera, a police spokesperson said.
When the homeowner refused to open the door, the suspects allegedly opened fire through it. In response, the homeowner returned fire, striking both men. According to ABC13, the suspects — believed to be in their 20s — were pronounced dead at the scene. The homeowner was not injured.
Authorities reported that the men were wearing bulletproof vests and fake badges. As of now, no charges have been filed against the homeowner, but the investigation remains ongoing.
