6 people dead in freak ‘dairy accident’ at farm
Authorities confirmed that six men lost their lives in a shocking accident at a dairy farm in Keenesburg, Colorado, on Thursday evening.
Firefighters from the Southeast Weld Fire Protection District responded around 6 p.m. to Prospect Valley Dairy after reports of people trapped inside a confined space. Rescue teams entered with caution but tragically recovered six deceased individuals from the area.

Preliminary investigations by the Weld County Coroner’s Office suggest the victims were exposed to a toxic gas at the farm, CBS News reported. Meanwhile, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has launched an official inquiry into the incident, according to Denver 7.
Dairy Farmers of America expressed deep sorrow over the loss. “We confirm that a tragic accident at one of our member farms in Keenesburg has resulted in the deaths of six people,” the organization said. “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families and friends affected by this devastating event.”

Keenesburg is situated approximately 41 miles northeast of Denver.
