Road-rager punched woman in face after being honked at

Authorities in Pennsylvania are searching for a woman accused of assaulting another driver during a road rage incident in Upper Darby Township.

Imeera Burnett, 21, has been charged with assault following the Monday evening confrontation near the 69th Street Transit Center, according to court records from Delaware County.

Upper Darby police say the altercation began when a vehicle—identified as a Dodge Charger—cut off another driver. The victim honked her horn in response. According to Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt, the driver of the Charger, allegedly Burnett, pulled over, exited her car, and approached the other driver’s window before punching her in the face.

A passenger in Burnett’s vehicle reportedly pulled her back into the car, and they drove off. However, the victim was able to capture a photo of the vehicle’s license plate.

“Turn yourself in,” Bernhardt urged Burnett in a public statement. “Your emotions got the best of you, and now you’ll have to answer for assaulting another person.”

The victim suffered a facial injury, though her condition is not considered serious, according to WPVI.

Public records show a person with Burnett’s name and date of birth has a prior criminal history in Pennsylvania, including charges of theft, resisting arrest, and previous assaults.

Police are asking anyone with information on Burnett’s whereabouts to contact them.
