IT’S HAPPENING: Homeless Encampments Are Already Being Cleared Out of Washington, DC (VIDEO)

In the wake of a recent executive order signed by former President Donald Trump, federal authorities have cleared approximately 75 homeless encampments in Washington, DC, according to the Department of the Interior.

The directive, titled “Making the District of Columbia Safe and Beautiful,” was issued in March and tasks the U.S. Park Police with removing unauthorized encampments and cleaning public spaces in the nation’s capital. As of August 6, officials have also cleaned up to 80 instances of graffiti around Capitol Hill Parks.

Interior Deputy Press Secretary Aubrie Spady stated, “President Trump signed the order to Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful in March, and our dedicated U.S. Park Police have been working around the clock since to enforce this directive, clean up our streets, and ensure our nation’s capital is safe.”

The action comes amid ongoing concerns over public safety, sanitation, and the visible presence of homelessness in the city. Supporters of the cleanup effort argue that the situation had deteriorated due to inaction by local leadership, while critics continue to debate the balance between public order and compassionate solutions to homelessness.

Video footage of the recent removals has circulated widely, reflecting public interest and mixed reactions to the initiative.
