Dear Prudence,

My wife and I can’t decide how to share the news of our pregnancy with friends. We’re more than halfway to term, and she is still treating it like a state secret. As a result, I feel like I’m holding a big part of my life back from everyone I catch up with. I understand her argument: Every pregnancy has risks, and what could be more personal? At the same time, the vow of silence is making me feel isolated. Where’s the middle ground?
